Having Trouble Sleeping?

It's 4 p.m., you're sitting at your desk and struggling to keep your eyes open. Then why is it that as soon as you've completed your last chore of the night and finally get the chance to fall into your bed, you suddenly feel wide awake? You've dreamed of your bed all day, yet now that you're in it, sleep is the last thing on your mind. It's the vicious cycle of insomnia. If you've been there, I'm sure you can relate. I've been there way too many times, but I finally found a solution. A solution that works for both my son and I, which is super important because having two sleep-deprived, grouchy people in the same household is just not pleasant. This diffuser blend that I'm about to share with you has been so faithful to help both of us sleep.

I don't know about yours, but my kid was constantly finding every excuse not to go to bed at night. He's asked for water, he's needed to tell me something "real quick", he has literally taken 15 minutes to say goodnight to the dogs. You name it, he's tried absolutely everything to avoid going to bed at night. Shockingly, or to all you parents out there, not shocking at all, this is the same kid who can never hear his alarm go off, hates waking up in

the morning and would sleep until 10 a.m. if only school didn't exist. He's a night owl. I get it and I'm pretty sure he inherited it from me. Only problem is school starts at 7:30 in the morning and he was exhausted every morning. Diffusing this blend for him at night has made all the difference. While he's getting ready for bed, I start this blend in his room (we use the adult version because he's 12 and the kid version wasn't quite doing the trick for him) and when he gets in the bed, he can't resist falling asleep nearly immediately. It's been a lifesaver in our home.

There are two versions of this blend, one for adults and another for kids. For these purposes, anyone who is between 5 and 12 years old qualifies as a kid. The kid's version doesn't use as many drops of oil because kids do not need as much to get results. If you have a child between 10 and 12, you should use your judgment to figure out which diffuser recipe works for them. Try the kids' version first and if you're not seeing any improvement, it would be fine to increase the drops to the adult version and see if that helps them fall asleep better.

As far as kids under the age of 5, again, use your judgment. You can certainly diffuse for younger kids, just be sure to remember that their systems are sensitive and they do not require as much oil as older children. If you choose to use the kid diffuser recipe for a child under 5, diffuse for only about 15 to 20 minutes until they fall asleep, then turn the diffuser off for the night. For adults and older children, you can fall asleep with the diffuser on as long as your diffuser has an auto shutoff for when the water level gets low.
